The Muslim marriage app for London.
More than a million Muslims call London home — from Tower Hamlets and Newham to Harrow, Croydon and everywhere in between. Zawaj helps London Muslims who are serious about nikah find each other, without the guesswork of ordinary dating apps.
A huge community — and somehow still hard to meet the right person.
The 2021 Census counted roughly 1.3 million Muslims in London, about one in seven Londoners. Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Somali, Arab, Turkish, Nigerian, Afghan and convert Muslims all live side by side, often a few Tube stops apart. On paper, finding a spouse should be easy.
In practice, London life gets in the way: long commutes, demanding jobs, and social circles that rarely cross from one borough or background to the next. Mosque events and family introductions still matter, but they tend to reach the same few people. Zawaj widens that circle to Muslims across the city who want the same thing you do — marriage.

Nikah and civil marriage in England.
A nikah on its own is generally not a legally recognised marriage in England and Wales unless it takes place at a registered building with an authorised person present. Many London couples have a civil registration as well as their nikah so that both spouses are protected in law — it is worth discussing early.
London has many well-known mosques and Islamic centres that conduct nikahs, including the East London Mosque in Whitechapel and the London Central Mosque in Regent’s Park. Ask the imam about registration when you book.
