A Muslim marriage app for Ireland.
Ireland’s Muslim community is small but growing — around 80,000 people in the 2022 Census, from Irish converts to families with roots in Pakistan, Nigeria, Malaysia, the Arab world and beyond. Zawaj helps Muslims in Ireland find someone who is serious about nikah.
A close community — and a small pool.
Most Muslims in Ireland live in and around Dublin, with communities in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford. Mosques such as the Islamic Cultural Centre in Clonskeagh are at the heart of community life, but in a population this size, everyone tends to know everyone — and the right person may simply not be in your circle.
Zawaj widens that circle: search close to home, across Ireland, or into the UK and Europe if you are open to relocating, with clear intentions from the first proposal.
Built for a small, spread-out community.

Nikah and civil marriage in Ireland.
To be legally married in Ireland, you normally give at least three months’ notice to the civil registration service, and the ceremony must be performed by a registered solemniser. Some imams are registered solemnisers, so the nikah can also be the legal marriage; if yours is not, register a civil marriage as well so both spouses are protected in law.
